How we handle your information
A plain-language notice for the Dovariq founding pilot at getdovariq.com. It is due for review by a lawyer and may change; if it changes in a way that matters, we'll tell applicants and users. Last updated 3 October 2026.
Who we are
The pilot is run by the team building Dovariq in Nigeria. Dovariq is the name of the service; it is not yet a registered company in its own name. The legal entity responsible for this information will be named on this page once it is registered.
What we collect
If you apply to be a tasker:
- Your name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), WhatsApp number, city, areas, availability, task types, phone and data, experience, your answer to the scenario question, and how you heard about us. We don't ask for anyone else's details at this step.
- Only if you're shortlisted and pass the interview (final checks): a photo of a government-issued ID, a clear photo of you, the bank account you want to be paid into, and an emergency contact's name and phone number. Please tell your emergency contact you've shared it; we only use it if something happens to you during a task.
- Notes our team makes during screening and the interview.
If you request a task: your name, email, phone number, the task details (including addresses and any on-site contact you give us) and messages about the task.
During a task: the photos, videos, documents and reports the tasker submits, with upload times; the tasker's location only if they choose to share it for that task; reviews; and payment records.
When you use the site: one cookie to keep you signed in, and security logs (such as IP address) used to prevent abuse. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
- To review applications, contact shortlisted applicants and check identity.
- To match tasks with taskers, run tasks, pay taskers and handle problems or disputes.
- To keep customers and taskers safe and to prevent fraud.
- To meet legal obligations.
Every decision about an application, a task or a payment is made by a person on our team.
Who can see it
- Our team, for the purposes above.
- Customers see what they need about the tasker on their task (first name and last initial, trust level and their {PASSPORT_NAME} track record) and the evidence for their own task. They never see a tasker's ID, bank details or emergency contact.
- Taskers see the task details they need to do the task.
- Service providers who run the platform for us: website hosting (Vercel), database and file storage (Supabase), and workflow automation (n8n, which receives record references, not contact details). Files are stored privately and opened only through short-lived links.
- An AI service (Anthropic) that helps our team summarise applications and tasks. It receives text with names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, ID and bank details removed. A team member may also ask it to describe a specific task photo. It never makes decisions, and under its business terms it doesn't use this data to train its models.
Our hosting and storage servers are in the European Union (Ireland), so your information is stored outside Nigeria. We don't sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep pilot records while the pilot runs and for as long as needed to resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. A specific retention period will be published on this page. You can ask us to delete your application at any time before approval.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how it's used, or withdraw consent. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Our support email and WhatsApp line are being set up and will be published on this page. Until then, the Dovariq Assistant (bottom right on our main pages) answers common questions, and applicants can check their application at any time by signing in.
